This kitchen update was designed for an elderly client who wanted to transform her dark, dated builder kitchen into a bright and cheerful space. Working within a limited budget, the existing cabinets were retained, but the upper doors were replaced and extended to the ceiling for a more refined look. Some of the original doors were repurposed on the island to add character and cohesion. The mahogany finish was refreshed with a soft, warm neutral tone, complemented by a mushroom-toned vintage tile backsplash and new hardware. Additional lighting and improved functionalityβincluding pullout drawers and a blind-corner pulloutβmade the kitchen both more usable and enjoyable for the client.
