Studio Job, founded by Dutch designers Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel, is known for its work that delves into the macabre, the bizarre, and the mundane, blending references from medieval art to pop culture. Their creations are rich in narrative and feature exceptional, ornate craftsmanship. In collaboration with Maharam, Studio Job pushes the boundaries of traditional loom work. The Bavaria collection, inspired by a limited-edition 2008 series of Indian rosewood furniture with laser-cut marquetry, showcases a traditional farmland scene filled with livestock, crops, tools, and transport, all depicted in a striking flattened perspective. This intricate jacquard piece stands out for its vibrant color palette and illustrative detail.
