Dot Pattern
Dot Pattern
The Dot Pattern was first created for the Museum of Modern Art's 1947 fabric design competition and has since become a celebrated design. While it reflects the design sensibilities of its era, Dot Pattern also embodies the timelessness of the Eames' vision.
Inspired by molecular structure, the motif—and the product name—represent the Eames' straightforward approach to design. In collaboration with Lucia Eames, the Maharam Design Studio reinterpreted this iconic pattern into a woven construction, preserving the hand-executed quality of the original. Special care was taken to faithfully capture Ray Eames' remarkable color sense, a hallmark of the original design, ensuring its vibrant essence remains intact.
